Ruins of the Irondale Blast Furnace remain at the mid point of this crushed stone and dirt trail. It’s history dates back to the Civil War. The Irondale Furnace Trail offers access to these remains. There is a small picnic area (one table) with a view of the old Irondale Furnace.

The foundation of the Blast Furnace was recently restored, and plaques tell the story of the facility that once occupied over 2,000 acres. Benches are available in the open grove and provide a peaceful respite in the wooded area. Dog stations are available on site, so residents are encouraged to bring the family pets and enjoy the beauty of this natural park.
