Land Trust of North Alabama’s Wade Mountain Nature Preserve is currently 843 acres with eight miles of trails for hiking, biking, or horseback riding. Wade Mountain is currently the only Land Trust Preserve which allows equestrian trail riding. A Recreational Trails Program grant awarded in the late 1990s was used for trailhead construction. Environmental education events on the trails help foster appreciation of nature and the need to preserve the places we love. This is vital in raising the next generation of land preservationists. Courtesy Land Trust of North Alabama
