Chief Ladiga Trail
The Chief Ladiga Trail extends 32.5 miles from the Georgia state line to Weaver, Alabama. A paved recreational trail, it follows the bed of the former Seaboard/CSX Railroad. It extends into Georgia an additional 63 miles along the Silver Comet Trail, making it the longest continuous paved rail trail in the United States.
The trail takes its name from the Creek Indian leader who signed the 1832 Cusseta Treaty, surrendering the tribe’s remaining land in the area. The trail is very flat, smooth and perfect for easy biking and walking. Because of the terrain, enjoy a short stroll along it, enjoying the scenery of Northeastern Alabama. Since it is such a well-planned route, you can also travel the entire length into Georgia.
The Chief Ladiga Trail enjoys thousands of users from around the U.S. and world. As a result, they have discovered its beauty, solitude, and connections between towns, neighborhoods, and parks.
