Lagoon Park Trails offers over six miles of natural surface single- and double-track trails for walking, hiking, trail running, mountain biking, birding, and fishing.  The trails meander across open meadows, along creeks, lagoons, and a 7-acre beaver pond,  through hardwood forest and pine flats.  An additional 1.5 miles of trail will be completed by September, 2018.  The entire trail system is located within the city limits at Lagoon Park.

The southern trailhead is located in the 2700 block of Gunter Park Drive, Montgomery, Alabama, 36109.  The northern trailhead is on the entrance road to Pete Peterson Lodge at 2635 Gunter Park Drive East, Montgomery, Al 36109.  Potable water and restrooms are available at the lodge.  Handicapped parking is at the northern trailhead.  See our Facebook page at “Lagoon Park Trail.”

Admission is free.  To reserve a picnic pavilion or Pete Peterson Lodge, please call Montgomery Parks and Recreation at 334-240-4050.

While the trails are located on city-owned property at Lagoon Park, the trails were constructed and are maintained by a tax-exempt 501(3)(c) organization, Lagoon Park Trails, Inc., with the generous donations of funds and labor contributed by individual citizens, the business community, our military friends, city and county governments.
