Five bluff overlooks await you on this trail and there are lots of chances to explore the lake’s edge. There will also be ample opportunities to dip your toes in one of the many spring-fed creeks this trail encounters. Watch for bald eagles and ospreys. Trailhead at Guntersville Dam and remaining 1.5 miles of trail will open soon; secondary trailhead is open with limited parking. Coming soon: signage that explains the historic significance of this area.

Honeycomb Trail is located on Guntersville Reservoir in northern Alabama. There are five bluff overlooks on this trail and lots of opportunities to explore the lake’s edge – watch for bald eagles and ospreys. There are also ample opportunities to dip your toes in one of the many spring fed creeks. Secondary Trailhead is established along with ¾’s of the trail; the remainder will open just as soon as the new water plant is completed. Look for signage to explain the historic significance of this area. The trail takes you from views high above the lake down to the shore, so there is some elevation change.
