The Goose Pond Colony Walking Trail is located on the grounds of Goose Pond Colony, a 326 acre public resort facility owned by the City of Scottsboro. The trail is a loop and 2 miles long and 8 feet wide. It winds thru wooded area and cabins and is adjacent to the Tennessee River/Guntersville Lake. It offers campers, marina visitors, cabins and lodge guests and day visitors an opportunity to exercise and enjoy the scenic and quiet beauty of the area. Bird houses were put in various places along the trail as part of an Eagle Scout project. Trail head parking at both ends make it convenient for a leisurely walk or more vigorous run. The trail was constructed in 1990 with a Land and Water Conservation Fund grant. Courtesy: American Trails
