Blue Trail in the Black Creek Trail System
Noccalula Falls Park and Campground
The Blue Trail in the Black Creek Trail System is a one mile loop trail. The terrain is varied and offers a good bike ride for all skills. You’ll find several rock features and short climbs and descents. The singletrack becomes a little narrower compared to the green family trail but is still considered an easy to moderate trail.
The Black Creek Trail System is a combination of crushed-stone pathways and machine-cut single track that is located inside the scenic beauty of Noccalula Falls Park and Campground. The trails are very family-friendly, are located two miles from downtown Gadsden, and are easily accessible with excellent parking.
Black Creek Trail takes advantage of the river, offering a nice walking path along the river’s edge.
The Black Creek Trail, is a 1.7 mile long crushed stone walking/biking path that runs from the Wedding Chapel at the Noccalula Falls Campground down along the Black Creek Gorge to the bottom of Lookout Mountain. Intersecting the Trail are several more miles of multi-use trails.
The Trails can be accessed at the Noccalula Falls Campground parking lot or at the bottom where the Trail intersects Black Creek Road.. Parking at this point is best at the Etowah County Rescue Squad located on the corner of Tuscaloosa Ave and Black Creek Road. Don’t block the roll-up doors.
The intersecting trails are multi-use, though not crushed-stone as the main Trail is, nor are they as wide. Mountain-biking, hiking, and trail-running are suggested uses of these trails-they are not wheelchair-accessible.
